The Magazine for Ferrari Enthusiasts
Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

2 | Commento | Commento Stan Nowak The phone calls and letters can stop now; we're sorry, but we do not know where you can buy a 500 Super Fast for $85,000!!! Keeping track of this very volatile Ferrari market at the moment is extraordinary difficult and, as each issue is put to bed three to four weeks before you receive it, we are always about one month behind the market. |

Devlin One of only six chassis of the Series II Superamericas constructed in 1957, Super Fast 4.9 - a one off Ferrari - became the embodiment of the many concurrents in design from the many then thriving carrozzeria in Italy which were setting the standards for post World War II body lines. Applied ornament, radial surface forms, and the all too evident use of chrome, were dominating coachwork in the decade of the 1950s.

Rob Walker is almost as famous among car enthusiasts for the various automotive exotica he has owned. The have been Ferraris, too. How about one of the three 196 Sport spyders built in the last 1950s with Fantuzzi Testa Rossa like bodywork, or a 246 Dino, or a Lusso or two, a Dyatona, or two racing 250 GT short wheelbase berlinettas?

36 | Notizie | A Man with Experience When it comes to the servicing and repair of Ferraris, and here we mean all Ferraris, and here we mean all Ferraris, of all ages and cylinder persuasions, there is almost nothing, not even intense education nor raw talent, that can beat good, old, earned-in-the-hard-way experience. When it comes to knowing why an old V-12 is really down on power, or why that venerable straight four makes that funny noise coming out of turn nine at Laguna Seca during the historic races. |
42 | Corse | New Car, New Season, New Hope... Giorgio Piola, Autosprint In early March, Ferrari held a press conference to present its new Formula One contender to the automotive world - the 1987 F1-87. It is a neat piece of work, one of the most compact, spare, and tidy chassis to come from Ferrari in a long time. It is obvious that the instructions given to the design team last year were to "think small," and that's exactly the impression one gets on first viewing this car, its diminutively appearing size. |
